Russell, Melissa, Travis, Quinn and Patrick came to visit for the weekend!

We went sledding in Steamboat on Friday! It was SO FUN! Afterward we went out to Big House Burger. 

Haylie was a champ. She stayed at the bottom but got tossed around from person to person. She was just chill the whole time until she crashed on her dad's shoulder.

They have a contraption that takes you up the hill. All you do is sit in your tube and wa la your at the top. I could get used to this!

Porter took on the responsibility of feeding Haylie at the restaurant. It was so thoughtful and cute. 

The kids got Root Beer in a bottle. So fun!

Saturday we hung out and visited. In the evening Mike and Rowena came down. I made Zuppa Toscana and chili and we ate at Josh and Robyn's house. We visited till about 9:30 when they kids started to have melt downs. It was fun to visit and enjoy family!

Couples Get Away +1 to Lake Havasu

For our 2020 Couples Get-Away +1 (Haylie came too) we went to Lake Havasu City, AZ!!!

 Ok, it was kind of a couples get-away/business trip but, hey, it all counts. :)

The first flight from Rock Springs to Denver. Haylie slept the whole flight.

The second flight from Denver to Las Vegas Haylie slept for about 30 minutes and then cuddled. As we were getting off the plane people kept complimenting us on how good Haylie was. One guy told us our baby was an amazing flier and this buddy turned around shocked and said "there was a baby on the flight?!" He was right in front of us the whole flight. Haylie was a great traveler.

We stayed at the Flamingo in Las Vegas the first night. Worst choice. Super expensive with all the hidden costs and no continental breakfast or amenities. A crib would have cost $30 and toothbrushes and toothpaste $10. Ridiculous. Ok, moving on...

We ate at a yummy place called Carson's Kitchen. We loved everything including their silverware. They didn't have highchairs so we had to hold Haylie, which resulted in a spilled glass of water. Oops!

We walked around a bit and ran into the pawn shop on Pawn Stars.

Then we went and got our gait analysis done for new shoes. Both Ben and I run in a neutral position- but my right foot pronates a bit. The sales lady was super helpful and we were able to get shoes purchased and sent to Baggs.

The next day we drove our rental car to Lake Havasu City.

We got a bite to eat at Subway and then went to the London Bridge. Coolest history, it is actually the London Bridge! A man bought it and they took it apart piece by piece and brought it to Lake Havasu City. You can see actual bullet holes in the stone from WWII.

Haylie didn't appreciate the hot weather or the long day.

We drove around a bit to get to know the area and we found a hockey court!

It was a beautiful thing.

We walked around the London Bridge walkway. It is definitely a party place with lots of boats, music, dancing, food and swimsuits.

The weather was absolutely lovely. A little on the hot side, to be honest, but not too unbearable.

Meanwhile at home...

Melanie made treats for mutual. They played Crossnet volleyball and Octaball.

Lesa Wille dropped off a "thank you for weeding my garden" goodie box!

Friday in Lake Havasu!

We looked at a few business opportunities, then headed to the London Bridge.

We dipped our toes in the water.

Haylie crawled around a bit and then sat down on a slope and toppled into the water. :)

We went back to the AirBnb and I snuck away to walk around Hobby Lobby- All By Myself! It was amazing! Time passed so fast.

Haylie slept on the coziest bed on the floor.

We walked around the London Bridge that night. It wasn't as busy as I thought it would be. There were a few boats with music blaring and the eateries were all full to the brim, but other than that it was pretty tame. The weather was perfect. Afterward we went to Culver's and got frozen custard. 

Saturday we woke up at 8 and headed for our flights. It was a long day. We got home at 11:30 pm.

The kids seemed to have lots of good times with Grandma Patsie. According to Autumn "Grandma is good at keeping our belly's full." Autumn went on to say that one night she mentioned she was hungry right before bed and "before I knew it, Grandma had everything from the fridge sitting on the counter. And then everyone was eating another dinner!"

Thank you Patsie for loving on our kids!

Things we learned:

Flying is a pain unless you are flying far away. The rush of getting to our flight and then waiting was frustrating. We felt we lost 2 days of our 4 day vacation.

We like a slow, relaxed vacation- Las Vegas was too much 

Next year we are thinking a cabin in the woods, maybe near Baggs would be perfect.
