Spring Break 2022

Ben and the kids went geocaching!

We enjoyed relaxing and watching movies at Mom and Dad's AirBnB!
Lydia got sick but she handled the disappointment of it well. Though, if you ask her how spring break went she will tell you, "Terrible! I was sick!" :)

We went to the best Mexican restaurant ever!

On the last day, Melanie and I went geocaching. It was super windy!

We had a great time visiting my Mom, Dad and Iosua!

We went to Rock Spring! We went swimming at the Rec Center- which is really awesome, they have everything!

Afterward we got Autumn's new pet! Her name is Satin and she is a dumbo rat! I don't know how we didn't get a picture but I'm sure we will get some soon.

Then we went to Goodwill. Melanie has an interesting way of exiting the vehicle. *shrug*

Saturday and Sunday we listened to General Conference!
We played bingo and the kids and I both listened so much better!
So fun! And the friendly competition of it was a great addition!

Bingo winnings!

Grandma Hardman's Funeral

400# of pinto beans in buckets...

Haylie wasn't feeling so great so she took a nap on the comfy flower at the library while I worked.

Sibling love!

Saturday was my Grandma Hardman's funeral.
I loved my Grandma and have many memories with her. She was the lunch lady at my elementary school. I remember "helping" her prepare and serve meals. I remember packing brown paper bags with honey sunflower seeds and one chocolate chip cookie for field trips. I remember sitting beside her on the counter as my Ramen noodles cooked in the microwave- after the beep, she would hand the bowl to me so I could put a slice of American cheese on top. Yum!
A few times I rode my bike 7 miles to her house mostly so I could ask her if I could have a popsicle. I always knew she would say yes. Nearly every Sunday after church our family would go have dinner with Grandma and Grandpa Hardman. She made the best roast and gravy. Afterward, the table was washed and the cards were brought out. Sometimes I would play, others times I would just watch. When I got tired, I would lay down on the floor by my Mom's chair and sleep.
Grandma lived with us for a time while I was in High School. She loved playing Settlers and nearly every night would set up a fresh game for us to play. She enjoyed playing computer games, sitting there in her pajama dress playing solitaire, sometimes late into the night. She was amazing at sewing. I have a pink frog quilt, edged beautifully by her. We have aprons made by grandma that we use everyday, stained and well loved. She rearranged her furniture often- I couldn't believe how often a room could change with just a few pieces of furniture.
My Grandma and I spent lots of hours together traveling. Sometimes we would stop in Wendover- me waiting for her to return from the casino. She loved to listen to books on tape, she started this love in me. She drove a Mercedes that rode so smooth on the road it made my tummy sick but somehow always smelled new.
I love my Grandma. I'm so glad I will see her and play games with her again.

After the funeral we went to a park to eat lunch with all the family. The kids finished eating and I took the kids to the playground close by. While I was looking away, Haylie walked in front of the zip-line swing. It hit her in the mouth. Her front left tooth was chipped and her front right tooth plus the small one next to it were pushed far back. After a bit of panicking, I said a prayer of help. I got the impression to use my thumb to pull her two teeth forward. I didn't want to cause more pain but I did it anyways.

We called our kid's dentist to ask for help. Then we called around and got her an appointment to see a weekend dentist in Provo. My Mom and Dad took the other kids, while Melanie, Haylie, Ben and I went to have Haylie's teeth looked at. The weekend dentist took an x-ray and wanted to pull the teeth out right then. Ben suggested the weekend dentist talk to our kid's dentist so we got them on the phone together. Together, we decided to leave the teeth and keep an eye on them. They confirmed that me pulling the teeth forward was a good thing and had probably made it possible that her bite still fit together.

Haylie was so calm the whole time and let them look and mess with her mouth without a single complaint. It was a horribly scary experience but I know that Heavenly Father was watching over Haylie and us. He is in the details.

We went to Wendover and stayed with my parents. Haylie is tender, her face is super swollen, and I am  trying not to be over protective. It has been so nice to just relax and enjoy some down time at my parents AirBnb.

We went on an adventure to Blue Lake and climbed the rock pile!
